Kripalu yoga emphasizes that each yogi, experienced or beginner, meet the body where the body is. Fundamental to my belief is that as we practice self compassion and acceptance on the mat, we bring it into our world.

Yoga enriches my life by helping me to be more present through breath and body awareness, balance and mindfulness. Teaching yoga brings me joy and hope as I see my students become empowered and peaceful in both body and mind.

In 1982 I began practicing and studying Iyengar yoga in Ann Arbor, MI. Yoga practice has sustained me during an intense hospital nursing career. Yoga-mind allows me to be present for myself and my patients more deeply. In that way my experience as a Holistic Nurse and Healing Touch Practitioner infuses my yoga teaching.

Additionally, my yoga foundation includes the Kripalu and Anusara styles. I have been teaching locally for ten years. Most recently I reinvigorated my teaching skills by completing an intensive two-hundred hour yoga teacher training at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health.

I welcome the opportunity to practice yoga with you.
