Johanna Soet

In my practice I seek to address the whole person. This can include looking at emotional, physical, cognitive, social/relationship, and spiritual manifestations of one’s struggles. My work involves exploring people’s strengths as well as ambivalence about change, and applying multiple strategies to achieve a client’s goals. These may involve: cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, inner child work, gestalt techniques, mindfulness, and body-based therapies.

I work with people from adolescence to mature adulthood seeking to facilitate growth and change. I see clients with a variety of common mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. Some of my specialty areas include: trauma, eating disorders, reproductive issues/negative birth experiences, chronic illness, spirituality, and people coping with transitions.

I am a Yoga Teacher and I am certified as a LifeForce Yoga Practitioner Level I. As such I often incorporate body-based methods into the therapy hour – breathing, meditation, and movement — to bring about lasting change.
