I have had many unique life experiences having lived in several countries around the world. I am fluent in more than one language, have a special understanding of different cultures, and understand the importance of a client’s culture and background. I understand the importance of finding the right, multi-disciplinary approach tailored to the needs of my clients that takes into consideration background, unique life experiences, and what my clients want to change.
I have extensive training experience working with individual across the lifespan. I have a special interest in working with individuals recovering from trauma, including complex trauma. My research has been in the area of Intimate Partner Violence in the college-age populations and understanding the impact on mental health and coping mechanisms. I also have experience in working with individuals struggling with depression, anger, relationship issues, anxiety, personality disorders, and life transitions. I utilize empirically supported treatments in working together with my clients help them live more of the life they want. I have training and experience in Brief Dynamic Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
